The approval was announced by the Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, on Wednesday in Abuja at the end of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
In a statement by the Special Adviser Media to Minister of Transportation, Umar Jibril Alkali, the minister noted that the six ultra modern bus terminals are among the legacy projects of the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. When constructed and fully operational, the terminals will improve travel safety, reduce accidents and minimise illegal highway activities that have plagued the country.
“This is the first time the federal government is investing in modern bus terminals. They were sited for economic viability and security.”
According to the statement , the Minister noted that the N142.03 billion project would be sited in Abeokuta- South West, Gombe-North East, Kano-North West, Lokoja-North Central, Onitsha-South East, and Warri-South South Nigeria.
