Champions League final: Bayern Munich set record that may never be broken

Bayern Munich claimed their sixth Champions League title on Sunday, setting a record that can never be broken in the process.

The Bundesliga giants became the first side to win the trophy, after winning every single game in the campaign.

Hansi Flick’s men tallied a perfect haul of 18 points from their six group games, including a stunning 7-2 victory over Tottenham, as they racked up a remarkable +19 goal difference.

When the knockout phase got underway, they crushed Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge before COVID-19 broke out.

After football resumed eventually, Bayern saw off Chelsea 4-1 in the second leg.

They then demolished Barcelona 8-2 in the quarter-finals and beat Lyon 3-0 in the semi-finals.

In the final, the Germans edged a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon, Portugal.

Their performances in Lisbon also saw them win 21 games in a row in all competitions having also stormed to the Bundesliga title.
