Africa's Richest Man, Aliko Dangote On National Rescue Mission

22 August, 2022

He will never be found wanting in his charitable ventures and in improving the quality of life, health and well-being of Nigerians. What he did during the COVID-19 pandemic through his Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF), is a testament to the goodness of a man who cannot stop giving. Alhaji Dangote, out of his generosity contributed so many billions of naira towards the arrest of the deadly virus in Nigeria.

Aliko Dangote Foundation, in partnership with others in CACOVID, the private sector-driven coalition spearheaded by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),  put resources together across industries to provide technical and operational support, while building advocacy through aggressive awareness drives with the sole aim of combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s knack for philanthropy is, to say the least, very overwhelming and very inexhaustible. His fire and flame of philanthropy appear never to wane and are almost inextinguishable, as he is so unrelenting in his drive and determination to bring succour to the suffering masses without fear or favour. This, he has been doing for years in many states across the nation, even before the inglorious advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation has always been at the forefront of fighting with a commitment to reduce the number of lives lost to diseases, such as COVID-19, Ebola and other deadly viruses across the States.

Chairman of Aliko Dangote Foundation and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote is so unperturbed and unrelenting in his commitment that as soon as he identifies any area of need anywhere by the people, he moves in swiftly and succinctly addresses the situation by alleviating their sufferings through gifts in cash and kind without even looking back. These gestures are what the number one citizen of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari sees him before making him the pioneer Chair of the National End Malaria Council (NMEC), a body established to eliminate the scourge of malaria in the country.

Dangote, who is the Nigerian Ambassador for Malaria, accepts the responsibility of chairing the Council and promises that his current roles on the Global End Malaria Council, and the work that his Foundation is doing to mobilise the private sector to support malaria control in Nigeria in particular, and Africa at large will increase to make sure the dreaded disease goes into extinction.
