In a twist of fate, the Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has urged federal lawmakers representing the state to give their support to his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who was nominated among those to be in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
Fayose made this known on his Twitter handle saying, “It is God that judge people, not we. If a child would die, it shouldn’t be from the mother. Our senators will not oppose. Ekiti is my number one priority, I called all the house of reps and senators that went to Abuja from here, some people petitioned the National Assembly, stating how Fayemi sunk Ekiti into heavy debt, I have told the members not to do that,” he said.
“Even though some people petitioned National Assembly, stating how Fayemi sunk Ekiti into debt, our senators will not oppose his nomination,” Fayose added.
The face off between Kayode Fayemi and incumbent governor. Ayodele Fayose is a known issue as the latter has openly accused Fayemi of wasting government funds on different projects that has no impact on the people of Ekiti and now he's supporting his predecessor.
