The continuous human denigration and harassment of the Osun State Governor-Elect, Sen. Ademola Adeleke by the frustrated members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been berated by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West under the chairmanship of Dr. Eddy Olafeso.
It is no longer uncommon that, since the loss and confusion of the ruling APC at the Election Petition Tribunal, the party has continued to instigate the Nigeria Police Force to make unlawful arrest and detention of the supporters of the declared winner of Osun September 22 governorship election, Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke.
The current assault on innocent Nigerians is the illegal arrest and detention of the Principal of Ede Muslim High School, Mr.Kadili Adejare Abass and the school's Registrar's wife with her nine-month old child for no tangible reason.
The APC's clampdown on the person of Sen. Adeleke is obviously not unconnected with his victory at the Tribunal and clear triumph at the ongoing legal battles at the Appellate Court.
It is therefore imperative, as harbinger of egalitarian society, to guide our nascent democratic experience against arbitrary use of the power of government in surbverting the will of the masses of Osun State.
Come to think of it, the issues about the authenticity of Sen. Adeleke's certificate and testimonial are already before Courts of competent jurisdiction, so the APC must allow the cause of Justice to prevail.
Put succinctly, no amount of intimidation, name-calling, harrassment or desperation of the ruling APC will restrain PDP and Sen. Ademola Adeleke from retrieving their stolen mandate freely given to them by the citizens of Osun State.
