The federal government has announced that it will spend N6.2 billion to train and equip 16,820 youths in smartphone repair in order for them to become financially self-sufficient. According to Vanguard, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development announced the development on Wednesday, April 6. Sadiya Farouq, the minister who made the revelation while speaking at the launch of the N-Skills (Smart Phone Repairs) Programme in Bauchi, explained that the program is being used to pilot the N-Skills program, which is part of the N-Power non-graduate program. NRC confirms seven crew members missing, loses N80m over suspension of operation

The Nigerian Railway Corporation said on Tuesday, April 5, that it had still not been able to contact the 163 passengers and seven crew members who boarded the AK9 Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, 2022, when it was attacked by terrorists. Fidet Okhiria, the NRC's Managing Director, revealed this in the corporation's sixth update on the train attack. He did, however, say that 191 passengers had been confirmed safe and were in their various homes with their families, and that work was being done to reopen the rail line. Reps committee investigation reveals NSITF failed to remit N3.8bn

According to the House of Representatives' ad hoc committee on unclaimed funds in commercial banks and CBN infractions, the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) owes the federal government N3.8 billion. The chairman of the committee, Unyime Idem, revealed this at the panel's ongoing investigative hearing on Tuesday, 5 April, according to The Cable. According to Idem, the sum represented the amount that the agency did not remit to the government from 2016 to 2018. According to him, the agency only submitted audited financial statements for this period, and the debt figure was calculated by the committee based on the documents it received. Idem also claimed that between 2015 and 2020, the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) failed to remit N268 million to the federal government. “These figures are extracted from documents that they submitted before us.
