The Executive Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar has described the current Social Intervention Programme (SIP) under the present federal government as the best in the world.

The governor stated this on Wednesday at the flag-off of the exercise for additional 18 local governments at Gagarawa town.

Alhaji Muhammed Badaru said "I've never seen a social intervention programme so big, all encompassing and supportive to the people in the whole world than this one, he declared.

The governor said," execution of such exercise is a gesture only done by a man with iman (man with the fear of God) for injecting huge amount of money into the hands of the poorest of the poor", he said.

He said those criticising the government are those highly influential individuals that would not mind for the system to collapse to enable them continue with blatant corruptions that have taken place in past.

Badaru said Jigawa happens to be a state that receives the highest number of beneficiaries where N9.074 billion was paid to 26,734 beneficiaries  between August 2017 and April 2020‎.

He explained that today's launch is for 26,734 beneficiaries while additional 31,949 beneficiaries ‎have been selected for subsequent payments of monthly. Cash transfer under the SIP.

Earlier, the state SIP focal ‎person Alhaji Bala Usman Chamo said the programme was commenced with 9 piloted LGA's out of the 27 LGA's in the state.

Chamo commends the federal government for incorporating the remaining 18 local governments into the conditional cash transfer to ‎vulnerable people of the state.
