Flood has taken over Bauchi, Gombe road, and sacked Migawa Fulani settlement in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State as a result of a heavy downpour.

DAILY POST observed that the busy road across most of the state was seriously affected, causing hardship to motorists.

The flood which started at about 2:30 am on Sunday night also affected over five villages, including Sundimina, Masaya, Babaldu Kiyako, Malamawar Gangara and Kiyako all in Birnin Kudu Local Government Areas.

Birnin Kudu Local Government council chairman, Inuwa Wada Faka confirmed the incident to DAILY POST in Dutse.

He explained that the flood had displaced hundreds of the residents in Migawa, Malamawar Gangara and Babaldu villages.

Faka said the council had already sent a mission to ascertain the number of houses destroyed and farmlands affected in all the villages.

He, however, stated that most of the victims were now squatting at their close relatives’ residents.

The council chairman noted that state government through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Local Government are already working to assist the victims.

He assured that government would provide all the necessary supports to the affected victims.
