The enchanting story of Resident Electoral Commissioner par excellence, Mike Igini, is one that keeps confounding many, especially in the political landscape of the South-South geographical belt of the country.
He has proved over time that he is one political umpire that can be relied upon when the chips are down, given the political dexterity and cumbersomeness of that region of Nigeria. Now that he has ‘faithfully’ completed his task to the best of his ability, we hear from the grapevine that the man is reaping bountifully from his labour, as he is now luxuriating in ample dimension and acquiring beautiful mansions all over the place and all these are testimonies of the good job he did while he held sway as a REC in the South-South, the last of which was from Cross River to Akwa Ibom state. It was gathered that Mike Igini has now changed his residence to the bourgeois Lekki Phase 1 and is really living big, much to the amazement of his fellow RECs who were not this fortunate to benefit from their exploits as a REC. Some others don’t have such opportunities you can say.
