To survive in peace and harmony, to be united and strong, it must be one people, one nation and one flag; for while harmony makes small things grow, lack of it makes great things decay.
The words must have formed the mindset of the ebullient Dapo Abiodun, the Governor-elect of the Gateway state, Ogun. Since the Heyden Petroleum boss clinched victory in the last gubernatorial election, he has been moving round all the political divides to disabuse their minds on the need to join him in steering the almost drowning ship of the state. His appeal drive has taken him round all the three senatorial districts of the state, and he has amply shown that his government will be inclusive and at the very best non-partisan and non-vindictive. His emergence to occupy the plum seat of the state has also reunited the political big wigs across inter-party and sundry political stakeholders in the state. Even the traditional rulers in all these three districts are not left out, as he makes it a point of duty to visit them and appeal to them that they should all join him through appealing to their subjects that he will not neglect them in the scheme of things. The opposition parties are also not left behind as Dapo has extended a hand of fellowship to them on the need for them to come forward and be part of the government in whatever capacity they can render, since he believes he cannot do it alone. What a good and positive way to start governance by a purpose and focus-driven budding governor.
