A true friend un-bosoms freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes patiently, defends courageously, and continues a friend unchangeably.
These were exactly what played out at the last Ovation Carol Nite between two erstwhile bosom friends, Dr. David Adeleke and Bashorun Dele Momodu, the convener of the event. Hip-hop star, Davido, the son of of Davide Adeleke, who was at the centre of the beef between the two bosom friends, suddenly made a surprise appearance, possibly to represent his father, who was unavoidably absent; a tacit indication that the storm is over between the two pals. Davido, in his usual element, performed so superlatively at the event, entering with his hit track O.B.O. Astounded, Bashorun Dele Momodu, used the opportunity to curry forgiveness from those he had stepped in their toes in the recent past, especially the Ooni of Ife, HIM, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, who also was surprisingly physically present at the well-attended event, nodding intermittently at the mitigation disclosures of Dele Momodu, which he aptly tagged ‘Night of Forgiveness.’ It did not take many to decipher who the Ovation publisher was directing his statement to. What a way to kill many birds with one stone.
