One of the most popular controversial politicians in Ogun state is the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, the Omo-Ilu Foundation creator, Senator Buruji Kashamu whose contentious ambition for senate was purportedly financed with his personal billionaire war chest. Though he won despite stiff opposition from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Ibikunle Amosun and other political stakeholders in the state of the Gateway State.
Kashamu recently continued his battle not to get extradited on a decisive point. He was ordered by the judiciary to exercise his legal rights as determined by the preceding judgment. This means Kashamu can move on to get his political immunity after getting a legal live wire.
But the battle seems to be getting tougher for the Ogun East senator when the son of the famous Baba Ijebu Betting billionaire family, Ladi Adebutu Kessington position himself as the next to take over the Oke Mosan State House.
Ladi’s father's billions is said to be his ‘SURE BET’ as many scoop that the current Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Rural Development, is banking on his family’s wealth and contacts to easy out anyone who comes up within the PDP to challenge him for the governorship ticket.
Apart from the fact that protracted crises have factionalised the PDP in the state; even as their supporters allegedly have declared war on each one another. Though the Adebutu’s faction is said to be more favoured by the national hierarchy of the party, and also Kashamu is fighting for the control of the soul of the party in the state.
