Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor-elect of Lagos state, says Jimi Agbaje, his main rival in the governorship election, called to felicitate with him after INEC announced him as winner of the governership polls that took place over the weekend.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed in a tweet on Sunday night.
“At exactly 19:07, I received a call. Thank you Jimi Agbaje for your congratulatory call filled with kind words. It was an intense campaign and I am happy we can now focus on the very important job at hand; delivering a Lagos that works for all. #ForAGreaterLagos.”
Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress garnered 739, 445 votes while Agbaje who ran under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 206, 141 votes.
