Just like the earth is a beautiful bride that needs no man-made jewel to heighten its loveliness; so also it is paradoxical with human beings.

For some time now, many have been wondering about his new impressive come-back verve in the political firmament, especially in the ruling party of the state, All Progressives Congress (APC) before he left the party in the heat of the brazen heist that characterised the party primaries last October to form Allied People’s Movement (APM).

Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, is no doubt showing from his demeanour that old wine gets better in an old bottle. He has one way or the other become the beautiful bride in the state, who is positioning himself as the next occupier of Oke Mosan Government House in Abeokuta, the capital city of the Gateway State, Ogun.

In view of the fast-approaching governorship election in Ogun State, one name that has become recurring on the mouths of many political pundits is Akinlade, the APM candidate for the gubernatorial seat of the state. So far, many of his erstwhile opponents are now worming up to him, to give him a soft landing in the contest for the plum seat, which the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has sworn to relinquish in his favor.

The likes of Ladi Adetutu and many in his ilk of the elite are now squaring up for Akinlade to take the stage come March 9. The indications are that, Akinlade will pull a surprise victory over all his opponents, and this will be a good and better beginning for the people of Ogun and Nigeria in general.

Without being immoderate, other parties, except the APC, are even teaming up with the Akinlade governorship train, and all things being equal, the political ‘Wizkid’ at the Federal level, will shine ultimately on the D-Day.
