The Secretary General of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) , Olumide Bamiduro said that African and Commonwealth track queen, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor would not be participating in the 11th All Africa Game, starting tomorrow in Brazzaville, Congo.
Blessing did not perform well in the just concluded IAAF World Championship in Beijing, China. She came last in the 100m final, and she has failed participate in the 200m.
It was reported that while in Beijing, she told officials of AFN that she would not be available in the All Africa Games in Congo.
“Yes, she told us she won’t be available for the All Africa Games in Congo and I don’t know her whereabouts at the moment because she did not travel with us from Beijing to Nigeria. I am sure she must have returned to her base in the United,” Bamiduro said.
