The news have always been in the mill for some time, but many always find it very hard to believe, because of the erroneous impression he has always given the larger than life status he lives and the cash liquidity he claims. Well, the story has just been confirmed, as serious and intractable hard times have come the way of the music Taliban, Oritsefemi.
The musician is presently finding it hard to pay his house rent at Lekki Phase 1. Airwaves Report gathered that the Double Wahala crooner has subsequently been sent packing by his landlord, due to his inability to pay his rent after many months of default. It was also gathered that the singer, who made fame and money through his hit songs, is now squatting with someone in Lekki.
Recall that this time last year, there was a report that Oritsefemi faced possible eviction from his Lekki home over unpaid rent. According to a widely-read Lagos-based journal, PM Express last May 2016, which published thus about the singer, "sources close to the singer told PM Express that the landlord has threatened to throw out Oritsefemi from his property after he allegedly failed to pay the rent for his apartment off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, which expired some months ago.
Oritsefemi, said to be out of the country for a while, has since returned to the country, but said to be avoiding the landlord, who has vowed to effect the quit notice, if by the end of May, the singer failed to meet up his financial obligations.
"In 2014, at the height of his fame, the self-acclaimed Musical Taliban announced to the general public his change of fortune by the purported acquisition of a N200 million property in the posh Levi area."
Also his record label, MSN gang is said to be in shambles and the artistes he unveiled this year have not had any meaningful impact or works on display, and some of them have walked out of the label.
In an effort to confirm the story, when contacted, the singer's mobile phone numbers (0703 XXX X030 and 0706 XXX XX00) were not reachable. Even his manager, Yusuf Adebola Adepitan, popularly called Danku that confirmed the story of the new house and car in 2014, refused to answer call or replied text message sent to (0803 XXX XX41) confirm the story.
Another effort made to reach out to his media relations and publicist, widely known as TJ, to confirm the story revealed thus, "We only moved out to renovate the house at Taiwo Oniru. We are using another apartment on Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1 as office. It is not true that Oritsefemi is facing hard times or being evicted from his Lekki home. Do not mind mischief makers," says his publicist.
The conflicting and confounding issue here is that how can one move out of one’s house for renovation, and relocate to a more audacious and exquisite street like Admiralty Way? Ordinarily, it does not make sense for one to give his house up for reason of renovation and opt for another as office; where does he now reside as an abode? These are posers begging for answers from the Musical Taliban or better still his management team.
