The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the bye-elections held in Kano, Bauchi and Gombe states, with its candidates emerging victorious in the three constituencies.

In Kano State, APC candidate, Hussaini Yusuf Datti, was declared winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa State Constituency bye-election after securing 22,890 votes.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) came second with 270 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 108 votes. The Action Peoples Party (APP) secured 53 votes, while the Labour Party (LP) recorded 39 votes.

In Bauchi State, APC candidate Yakubu Ali also emerged winner of the Disina State Constituency bye-election.

Ali polled 5,846 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of the Action Peoples Movement (APM), who secured 5,225 votes.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) came third with 3,701 votes.

Similarly, in Gombe State, APC candidate Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a was declared winner of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election.

MaiJama’a secured 41,121 votes to emerge ahead of the Labour Party (LP), which polled 3,553 votes, while the APM received 872 votes.

The bye-elections were conducted to fill the vacant legislative seats in the affected constituencies.
