AGBELEBU 2027: ABIOLA PROPOSES FOOD BANKS TO SUPPORT VULNERABLE RESIDENTS IN AGEGE
As conversations around poverty alleviation, food security and grassroots development continue to shape political discourse in Lagos State, Hon. Olugbenga Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, the APC candidate for Agege Constituency 01, has outlined a proposed food bank initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable residents across the constituency.
Under the proposed initiative, food banks would provide monthly food supplies at no cost to selected elderly people, less privileged individuals and other vulnerable members of the community who struggle to meet their basic nutritional needs.
The initiative, as presented under the Agbelebu Agenda, seeks to address the challenges of food insecurity and provide relief for residents facing economic hardship.
Food is a fundamental human necessity, yet its rising cost continues to put pressure on many households. For elderly citizens living without adequate support, vulnerable families and individuals with limited means of livelihood, accessing sufficient food remains a major challenge.
Agbelebu’s proposed food bank programme is intended to bridge this gap by creating a structured support system through which beneficiaries can receive essential food items regularly without payment.
Beyond providing direct assistance, the proposal also identifies food banking as a potential avenue for helping to ease the burden of food costs on residents. Its implementation, funding arrangements and operational framework would be crucial to determining its reach and long-term impact.
*THE AGBELEBU AGENDA: PEOPLE-CENTRED REPRESENTATION*
The proposed food bank initiative forms part of a broader campaign message centred on grassroots development, social welfare, empowerment and opportunities for the people of Agege Constituency 01.
Supporters of the initiative believe that effective representation should go beyond legislative duties to include meaningful engagement with community needs and practical efforts to improve residents’ quality of life.
As the political journey towards 2027 continues, the proposal places food security and support for vulnerable residents among the issues being presented to the electorate.
Residents will ultimately look to clear implementation plans, sustainable funding and transparent beneficiary selection to ensure that the proposed initiative delivers meaningful results.
*A CALL FOR SUPPORT*
The campaign is calling on residents and stakeholders to support *Hon. Olugbenga Abiola (Agbelebu)* in his aspiration to represent Agege Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
