Desmond Elliot returns to Nollywood after losing APC primary election

Lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot, has been spotted on a movie set following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.

Photos circulating on social media showed Desmond Elliot alongside fellow Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta at what appeared to be a film location. The pair were seen standing together and engaged in conversation during production.

The development has sparked reactions online, with some social media users expressing excitement about seeing the actor back on screen after years of serving in politics.

The movie set appearance comes days after Desmond Elliot lost the APC primary for the Surulere Constituency I seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The three-term Lagos lawmaker was defeated by Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who secured the majority of votes in the party’s primary election.

Before joining politics, Desmond Elliot built a career in Nollywood, starring in several films and television productions. His recent appearance on a movie set has fueled speculation that he may be returning to acting.

However, Desmond Elliot has not publicly confirmed whether he is making a full return to filmmaking following the APC primary defeat.
