Theatre lovers, fashion enthusiasts, and cultural advocates are preparing for a major celebration of Afri can creativity as the TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) 2026 announces its upcoming gathering.

Scheduled for November 18, 2026 and November 19, 2026, TAF explores the theme “The Spark: Igniting the African Economy Through Stage Craft,” offering a vibrant blend of live performance, heritage fashion, and interactive arts across two premier Lagos locations.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, November 18, amidst the lush greenery of Shodex Gardens in Ilupeju.

The outdoor venue will play host to dynamic street theatres, interactive arts and brand exhibitions, the community-centered “A Walk For Peace,” and the Africa Rise Against Malaria (ARAM) Advocacy initiative, demonstrating how art seamlessly integrates with community life.

On Thursday, November 19, the curtain rises at the prestigious Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan. The day’s schedule features the veteran fireside conversation spotlight, an inspiring Generation Next Theatre (GNT) showcase, Master Classes led by industry masters, and breathtaking command performances that showcase the artistic depth of the continent.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the cultural synergy of the 2026 edition, Alayande Stephen T., CEO and Co-Founder of TAF, commented “African art and storytelling possess an unmatched vitality. Through ‘The Spark,’ we are igniting a renewed passion for live stage performances while showing how our cultural output can captivate audiences globally and build a thriving creative economy right here at home.”he averred.

Reflecting on the cultural continuity of the festival, Dr. (Otunba) Akin Lewis, Chairman of the TAF Board of Trustees (BOT), added: “Our rich tradition of stage craft is the bedrock of contemporary African entertainment. TAF 2026 honors the icons who built this foundation while creating space for fresh, modern expressions that reflect where our vibrant culture is heading next.”he proudly submitted.

A major highlight of the festival finale is the Africa theatre fashion and pageantry initiative, tagged The Metallic, which merges theatrical costume design with high fashion.
