Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres admits the Champions League final against Real Madrid is "the game of his life".

Atletico are looking for revenge after their 2014 final defeat in Lisbon as they face their city rivals in Milan, with Real themselves searching for an 11th European Cup crown.

Torres, who has won the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain, as well as the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, says playing in the final for his boyhood club is a dream.

"Tomorrow [Saturday] is the game of my life, without doubt," said Torres. "To me it means everything. Everything you dream when you're a kid, I have the chance tomorrow to make this dream come true.

"I've played for great teams, and won many things, but this one is special, it is different, it's what I wanted when I was a kid."

Torres is on loan at Atletico from AC Milan, and has scored 12 goals in 43 appearances this season.

However, the 32-year-old has had to settle for a place on the bench regularly this season, something he admits has been difficult.

He said: "I had a chance to come back to the club; they gave me the chance to come back and fight for what I wanted.

"It has been hard to be in this situation where I am fighting for a place in the team, and I fight a lot to score goals again and be an important player for the team." your social media marketing partner
