It was a night full of records in the champions league at the Santiago Bernabéu home of Real Madrid as the Los Blancos put up a rout display of goals against Malmo.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema became the first pair of teammates to each score hat tricks in a champions League game. Ronaldo became the first player to score 11 goals in the group stage of the champions League with an 11-minute second half hat-trick and then became only the fourth player in the club's history to score four in an European match which also extend his all-time Champions League scoring record to 88 goals.

The Portuguese was previously the joint holder of the record with nine, alongside Luiz Adriano, but now becomes the outright leader as he top-scores in the group stage for the fifth time  also a record that no other player has matched including the third fastest Champions League hat trick.

Real Madrid matched the record set by Liverpool against Besiktas in 2007, Rafa Benitez was in charge of both winning sides.

Though the  game meant little for Madrid who had already secured first place in Group A but the convincing victory helped ease the pressure on the coach, Rafael Benítez, and the president, Florentino Pérez who have been under pressure in recent week. your social media marketing partner
