Manchester City midfielder, Fernandinho, has congratulated Southampton following his side’s Premier League 1-0 defeat against The Saints on Sunday night.

The Brazilian also advised Pep Guardiola’s men to keep working hard and get ready for their next Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Wednesday despite losing against Southampton.

Man City was defeated by Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium after Che Adams netted the only goal of the encounter in the first half.

Reacting to the development, Fernandinho, in a tweet on his official Twitter page, said: “It’s been one of those days…Congrats @SouthamptonFC.”

“Let’s keep pushing and get ready for Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, speaking after the game, Man City coach, Pep Guardiola, said Southampton defeated his team because they made a mistake and could not convert their chances in front of goal during the encounter.

Guardiola said: “We played really well again, but we made a mistake and after, we had chances to score we could not convert.
