After a disappointing displaying on the continent Mountain Of Fire Football club have responded by defeating Nasarawa United FC 2 goals to 1, in Match Day 18 rescheduled game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match which was played at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The coach of the Lagos based team Fidelix Ilechukwu admitted that the away side were the better team in the second 45 minutes of the game, goals from Udeh Zinte and Julius Emiloju gave MFM a 2-0 early lead in the first half and Nwani Ilechukwu grabbed a late consolation goal for Nassarawa.

“Great game, but I think Nasarawa were better in the second half,” Ilechukwu claimed.

Nasarawa United’s Abubakar Abdullahi came close to levelling the game but his header was cleared off the goal line by Austin Opara, the result means Nasarawa are now 15th on the log and the victory took MFM FC to 10th on the log.

The Olukoya Boys will be hoping to show a better response when they face Djoliba in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup play-off round second-leg match at the Stade Omnisports Modibo Keita on Wednesday.
