Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, Cornelius Ojelabi and some Islamic clerics have urged Nigerians to use the Ramadan period to pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Ojelabi and the clerics spoke on Thursday at the 1st Ramadan Public Lecture organised by the Lagos APC held at the APC secretariat, ACME road, Ogba.

According to Ojelabi, Nigerians should ‘keep faith with Tinubu's administration in his efforts at making Nigeria great again.’

“Fasting is encouraged for all Muslims so they can be blessed. Ramadan is a period of sharing love and giving. Every good deed made in this period is rewarded. I encourage Nigerians to keep faith with President Tinubu's administration in his efforts at making Nigeria great again,” Ojelabi said.

He added: “ It requires us to make little sacrifices and play our role. Let us use this month to pray for Nigeria. Nigerians must rise up against corruption to make Nigeria great again.”

One of the guest lecturers, the Chief Missioner, Nadwat Global Assembly, Abdul Rahman Ade Lawal, in his speech noted that the present harsh economy in the country is not limited to Nigeria alone, noting that other developed countries such as England, Japan and many others are also experiencing recession.

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the government and expressed confidence President Tinubu would perform.

“President Tinubu was chosen by Allah to solve Nigeria's problems. I am confident all will be well. We are not putting blame on anybody. All we are experiencing presently is from Allah. Nigerians should stop cursing the President but pray for him and the renewed hope agenda to succeed,” Abdul Rahman said.

In his lecture, Saheed Olurotimi Timehin from the Department of Foreign Languages , Lagos State University, LASU noted that leadership is a responsibility. He added that President Tinubu is doing all he could to solve the economic situation.

“ Tinubu was already a leader before he became President. He has the quality of a leader to lead the country. Nigerians should continue to pray for him to succeed. Nigerians should stop cursing their leaders. They should rather pray for Allah to guide them right. We have a President every Nigerian loves so we need to cooperate with him to succeed,” he said.

The lecture was attended by top APC leaders, representative of the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, among others.
