The harsh economic climate occasioned by recession and lack of good governance has been attributed as the reason that bred distrust, loss of confidence and agitation in the country.

This was the position of Hon (Dr) Ladi Adebutu, Chairman, House Committee on Rural Development, on July 21, 2017, at the Intercessory Prayer Service of The Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria, Abule Oloni, Abeokuta, tagged "Fulfillment of God's Promises" with the theme "Praise God in the Mountain."

Speaking further, Adebutu, however, said that despite all the agitations in the land, he maintained absolute confidence in God to restore the glory of Nigeria where everybody would be happy. He pledged good governance in Ogun State in 2019 saying that it was the convenant between him and God. "We shall bring a radical and revolutionary government to Ogun State in peace and not in pieces", he stated.

Worried by concomitant effects of the sorry state of local government administration on Ogun people, Adebutu compared the current performances of the LGs and what obtained before 2011. He painted the current status of Ogun LGs as a disgrace to dignity and collective integrity of the entire state. The federal lawmaker, however, assured the congregation of his unrepentant desire to restore LG its pride of place in 2019.

In his remark, the Supreme Head, Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church Worldwide, His Most Eminence Dr Solomon Alao appreciated Hon Ladi for holding onto God in all his endeavours. He said he believed in the capability of Hon Ladi to make significant differences by delivering good governance to the people of the state. Noting that his aspiration to bail out Ogun from the economic and political doldrum would attract challenges from distractors, Dr Alao told him to consider such opposition challenges as steps he needed to rise to the number one seat in the gateway state. He advised him to always praise and pray to God for guidance and protection.

Major highlights of the service were the offer of special prayer for Hon Ladi by Dr Alao; the presentation of the Nigerian flag to the lawmaker as symbol of peace and unity by Gen Segun Fatoyinbo of the Army Salvation, C&S , Ogun State, and soul touching drama by the church members.

Hon Adebutu, a Special Most Senior Evangelist of Celestial Church of Christ of Nigeria attended the programme with other notable leaders of CCC.

Hon Ladi, at all times, has proved that God remains his greatest asset and not mammon.
