Erling Haaland could make his Premier League debut in an away encounter against West Ham when Manchester City begins its championship defence at the Olympic Stadium.

The league's schedule for the 2022-23 season was published on Thursday, with Liverpool — generally anticipated to challenge City for the title once more — starting away at promoted Fulham. A day later, City plays its first game.

City and Liverpool will meet for the first time in mid-October at Anfield, two weeks after City hosts Manchester United.

After coming from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has been the league's most high-profile addition so far this offseason. In the second round, the 21-year-old striker's first competitive home game for City should be against Bournemouth.

Nottingham Forest got promoted via the Championship playoffs, and it will play Newcastle in their first league match since 1999.
