Oriade LCDA holds free medical outreach, skill acquisition training for residents to mark one year in office

The Chairman Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Mr Rasaq Olojede, held a free medical outreach and skill acquisition to the residents to mark his first year in office.

Olojede while given his remarks during the exercise on Monday at the council Secretariat said that the activities were meant to celebrate his 365 days of his administration in the council.

According to him, the initiative forms part of activities commemorating the administration’s first year with an unwavering commitment to improving the health, welfare, and economic empowerment of the people of Oriade LCDA.

“This is to reaffirm that our administration remains people-centred, with deliberate investments in healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and social intervention programmes designed to improve the standard of living of residents.

“The Free Health Outreach offers residents access to medical consultations, health screenings, eye examinations, essential medications, and other healthcare services at no cost.

“Simultaneously, the Skill Acquisition Programme is aimed at equipping youths, women, and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical vocational skills that will promote self-reliance, employment, and economic growth,” he said.

The council chairman appreciated the residents for their unwavering support, cooperation, and confidence in his administration over the past year, assuring them that the next phase of governance would deliver even greater dividends of democracy.

He urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunities provided, emphasising that the programmes reflect his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and sustainable grassroots governance.

Mrs Sade Adeleke, one of the beneficiaries thanked the council chairman for his kind gestures to the people.

Adeleke said that the eye screening and free glasses benefitted to allow her read Bible easily.

“Formerly I find it difficult to read my Bible but with the test and free glasses given to me, I can now see clearly to read the Bible and other things on paper,” she said.

Mr Taiye Lawal, also a beneficiary of the skill acquisition programme thanked the chairman for giving him the opportunity to gain vocational knowledge in Tailoring for self reliance.

The Newsmen reports that the week anniversary will feature a series of programmes showcasing the achievements of the administration reinforcing vision of building a more prosperous, inclusive, and progressive Oriade LCDA.
