Mushin LG completes ‘Operation Light up projects’ with Solar streetlights in community

The Executive Chairman Mushin Local Government, Mr Olatunbosun Aruwe, has successfully completed the Operation Light-up Community with installation of Solar streetlights within the Mushin local government area.

Aruwe said in a statement on Monday reaffirming his administration’s commitment to sustain the momentum of infrastructural transformation across Mushin.

The chairman said that no community would be left behind in the ongoing drive for progress and inclusive development.

According to him, the project will further strengthens the track record of delivering people-oriented initiatives and development.

“This project underscores our dedication to improving the overall quality of life for residents of Mushin local government,” he said.

The chairman added that he Illuminated Anipele, Aregbe, and Kuseyi, boosting security of life and propertiesand Infrastructure in Mushin local government.

Aruwe said that ‘Operation Light-up Community’ was a significant move to enhance safety and improve community infrastructure.

According to him, he has completed the installation of modern solar-powered streetlights across Anipele, Aregbe, and Kuseyi in Mushin.

“This strategic initiative is aimed at reducing crime, improving road safety, and providing residents with a well-lit environment that fosters economic and social activities and serves as security measures in the night.

“A secure and well-lit environment is the foundation of a thriving community.

“We are committed to ensuring that every street in Mushin local government is safe, accessible, and conducive for our people to live, work, and thrive,” he said.

The chairman added that the project forms part of a broader plan to upgrade critical infrastructure across the local government, reinforcing Mushin’s position as a model for effective urban governance in Lagos State and Nigeria as a nation.

The council boss also added he has started the laying of interlocking paving stones on Garba Musa Street in the Idi-Araba area.

He said that his latest intervention formed part of the administration’s broader strategy to upgrade road infrastructure.

He said that the development enhanced environmental aesthetics, and provided durable, flood-resistant streets across the local government.

“Residents of Garba Musa Street have also lauded the initiative, saying that the project will significantly improve mobility.

“The development, the interlocking will reduce erosion, and stimulate commercial activities and save them during the rainy season within the community.

“The Garba Musa road connectivity links Itire, Ishaga, Lawanson, Ojuelegba and Surulere roads. This will be an important route for motorists to maneuver whenever there’s heavy traffic on the major road,” he said.(NAN)
