Mushin council chairman inaugurates 10 roads, vows more projects

Mr Haruna Aruwe, the Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State, on Wednesday inaugurated 10 newly constructed roads across the council.
The Newsmen reports that the inaugurated roads are Alasalatu, Mosalashi, Cash, Akingbola, Ibiosi, Alvis, Tadeyo, Jumoke, Oloje and Garba.
Speaking at the inauguration, Aruwe reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in the community.
He appreciated residents for their support, saying that his administration remained committed to delivering more road projects across Mushin.
The chairman appealed to residents to make proper use of the roads and safeguard the infrastructure, stressing that community ownership was essential to preserving the facilities for future generations.
According to him, the construction of the roads is part of the ways to ensure that the residents of the communities enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“I am just imploring the residents that they should make good use of it because we don’t pray to come back in the next four years to this area again.
“We are moving to another street, we are moving to another area, because we have promised the people of Mushin that we are going to do more roads for them, connecting them together.
“So, that’s what we are doing and we want them to make use of it very well,” he said.
Aruwe appealed to the residents of the area to make good use of the road and the street light, urging them to take charge of the facilities against vandals.
“They have to take charge of it because they are the ones living there,” he said
Also speaking, Sen. Ganiyu Solomon, a former Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, commended Aruwe for the projects, describing them as a major boost to social and economic activities in Mushin.
Solomon said that the new roads would improve access within the community and encourage transporters to ply the routes, thereby enhancing residents’ livelihoods.
“We are delighted to witness this development in Mushin. We appreciate the council chairman and his team for doing a wonderful job.
“We have attended several project inaugurations since he assumed office, and rather than slowing down, he has continued to deliver. That is why we came out, despite the rain, to support him.
“This is what the All Progressive Congress is expecting from all elected local government chairmen and the governors to do.
“In our case in Lagos State, we can see that the governor is doing his best, the President is doing more than his best.
“All the three tiers of government we have here are doing their best, so we are delighted to be here,” he said.
The former senator also urged residents to protect the roads and streetlights from vandals and prevent roadside mechanics from converting the roads into workshops.
Alhaja Tawakalitu Balogun, a member of the Community Development Association (CDA), Amu area of Mushin thanked the chairman for the road construction.
Balogun said that the new roads would go a long way in boosting the social economy activities in the community.
“This is an excellent development, honestly. You can imagine how these places look before now.
“We thank Almighty, we thank our leader, Sen. Solomon and the council chairman, the talk and do chairman, we thank him very much.
“Definitely, we are the CDA and we will be available at all times to maintain and ensure the facilities last for years,” she said.
