Mr Ayinde Akinsanya, Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has reassured residents of sustained infrastructure development and educational advancement in the community.
Akinsanya gave the assurance on Wednesday while inspecting projects in the LCDA, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal.
According to him, infrastructure development remains one of the vital tools for growth and progress in any community.
“We are focusing on infrastructure and educational advancement to improve the level of development in the community.
“We are embarking on a comprehensive inspection of ongoing and completed projects in Ikotun and Igando communities.
“We are satisfied with the quality and pace of work, as the road project is strategically designed to improve connectivity, ease vehicular movement and enhance drainage within the axis,” he said.
The chairman added that the transformation of Itoki Road would significantly boost local economic activities, while also contributing to environmental cleanliness and urban development through improved drainage.
Akinsanya expressed displeasure over the activities of traders already misusing sections of the newly completed interlocking road and drainage system for trading.
He cautioned against actions that could damage public infrastructure, stressing the need for collective responsibility in preserving government projects for long-term community benefit.
The chairman also assessed the level of progress at Igando Primary School and reiterated the importance of providing a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
He said investment in education remained a top priority of his administration, as it formed the foundation for sustainable community growth.
Akinsanya assured residents that the council would continue to deliver people-oriented projects that directly impact their daily lives.
He also charged contractors to maintain high standards and ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects.
Mr Jide Lawal, a resident of Ikotun who witnessed the inspection, commended the administration’s proactive approach.
Lawal described the projects as timely interventions that would improve infrastructure and the quality of education within the LCDA.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the council chairman was accompanied by the Secretary to the LCDA, Mrs Mojisola Badmus.
Also on the inspection team were members of the management staff led by the Council Manager, Mr Akowanu James. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
