The Federal Government has issued an order to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to deploy the system of booking traffic offenders instead of confiscating their vehicles.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Oluseyi Whenu, said that there is an on-going plan to nab traffic defaulters, who refused to pay fines imposed on them.

Whenu assured Lagosians that there will be a more effective traffic management and documentation processes where traffic offenders would be booked and given a specified period of time to pay their fines.

He admitted that the government has seen the tireless efforts of traffic managers in the present traffic situation in the state as they try to achieve a flawless flow of traffic.
He advised that LASTMA should work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure that the Lagos Road Traffic Law 2012 is enforced.
