EPL: Clarence Seedorf gives reasons Ziyech will face challenges at Chelsea

07 August, 2020

Former Ajax and Real Madrid midfielder, Clarence Seedorf, has given reasons Chelsea’s new signing, Hakim Ziyech will face challenges at Stamford Bridge.

DAILY POST had reported that Ziyech joined Frank Lampard’s men from Ajax for €40 million.

The Moroccan star scored 49 goals in 160 appearances for Ajax during his time in Holland.

But Seedorf thinks the winger could find it tough to adapt to life in a new league and a new style of play.

“Ziyech is a talent that’ll face challenges, because this is not the Ajax style of play, the Dutch style of play, and that’s going to be his biggest challenge, I think: to adapt to a new style of play and everything that comes with it,” Seedorf told Stats Perform News.

“But he has a proper mentor [Frank Lampard] in place to guide him to the Premier League style and competitiveness that is needed. I think the ingredients are there for him to continue to spread his talent on the pitch and show that this next level was the right thing to do.”

“Lampard has shown to have had a good, positive impact on the team and young players,” he added.
