Classy singer, Gloria Ibru, who recently clocked 50, has teamed up with Afrobeat singer, Dede Mabiaku to release a new single entitled ‘Africa.’
The gorgeous mother of one, who has carved a niche for herself as one of the evergreen musician in the Nigerian music industry performing with her live band for three decades, doesn't seem ready to slow down.
Despite her successful back surgery months ago, the daughter of one of Nigeria's foremost industrialist, isn’t resting on her oars as she dragged Dede Mabiaku to record her highly anticipated single, 'Africa'.
According to Gloria, the song is a fusion of different genres which celebrates Africans, the continent and our value.
The 'Sugar-Mama' singer says that the single is one of the songs that will make up an album to be released in December when she launches her album and her foundation, which is expected to cater for spinal cord injury victims.
"Recording this song with Dede Mabiaku, my old time friend was a delight. The song titled, Africa is out now and we are shooting the video presently. Africa is part of the songs that will make my album. Sugar Mama was dropped early this year. In my album, I’m bringing a fusion of jazz, highlife, calypso, afro pop and other genres of music together”.
Gloria who’s the first daughter of Olorogun Michael Ibru has been thanking God in all ways since she clocked 50.
Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear as she plans a four-day celebration of her life at 50.
