Nigeria @61: TheElite Magazine Celebrates Oba Elegushi

30 September, 2021

The most stylish and very exquisite Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the Elegushi of Ikateland, Kusenla III, recently graced the front cover TheElite Magazine, the independence edition, which aims to specifically celebrate Nigeria at 61.

In this special edition, Kabiyesi talked about his years on the throne and his 11 magic that made him an exceptional personality which distinguishes him among the league of first-class Obas in the country.

The monthly magazine, published by renowned veteran and versatile society journalist, Kemi Akinyemi, who has the ears of the rich and mighty in the society, as she has covered and written plum stories on people that matter in the society over the years, since her entry into journalism.

On a courtesy visit to the modern and well-appointed palace of the Elegushi to officially present the well-detailed edition of TheElite magazine, which captures the great moments of a king with the magic wand that has turned out to be an enigma like Alexander the Great, that historical king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia, she applauded the amiable king for his ground-breaking exploits within his kingdom, his immediate environment and the Lagos State at large.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, who personally received the publisher, Kemi Akinyemi and her team with a warm reception, appreciated the industrious and entrepreneurial efforts of the versatile pen pusher and commended her on the super edition to celebrate the nation at 61, including him which also presents him on the cover of the novel magazine; and by extension magnifying him as one of those who project Nigeria in good light.

According to the revered Oba, ‘I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for deeming me fit to grace the cover of this your special edition, and may God continue to raise you in all your efforts, just as the illustrious people of Ikateland, will never cease to thank you immensely for showcasing the heritage, rich culture and tradition of the kingdom.’

Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi was crowned king 11 years ago when he was just 34 years old. Within a few years of his ascension, he has turned around the fortunes of the small kingdom so much that it has now become one of the tourist spots and attractions to consider when visiting Lagos. His reign as Kusenla III, which is just a little beyond a decade so far, has continued to generate excitement, not only among his subjects, or within the South-West geo-political zone, but across Nigeria and beyond.

For the record and interestingly too, each time he celebrates another year since his coronation, the blogosphere reacts, the social media kick, and even tongues wag positively about him across all divides, within and outside his domain.

This goes to show and amplify that, if you are so good, people will constantly talk about you for centuries without waning. Oba Saheed’s exploits in Ikateland invariably therefore qualify him to enter the history books.
