As part of activities lined up to commemorate its 30th anniversary, Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) recently hosted a Golf and Networking Experience with senior executives of banks, captains of industry, Media partners and clients in attendance.

Held at the prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938, the networking initiative designed to promote unity, genuine connections and partnerships was organised to honour three decades of advancing corporate communications and marketing excellence within the nation’s banking industry.

ACAMB President, Jide Sipe, who welcomed members and dignitaries to the networking event, reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to the reputation and growth of the banking industry.

“Over the past 30 years marketing and corporate communications professionals have continued to contribute significantly to the transformation of the financial sector from a closed-door industry into an ecosystem driven by transparency, speed, and digital engagement. We have remained consistent, from gatekeepers to strategic drivers in actualising growth, positive brand perception, aligning business values to customer needs, customer satisfaction and loyalty. The list is endless.

Sipe further noted that, marketing professionals continue to hold sway in driving a core strategic function that directly impacts market valuation and regulatory compliance coupled with Information democratization, reputation management as well as education of the public sector on complex monetary policies.

“All this have to great extent catalysed the growth trajectory of the financial sector and to that, we feel a sense of pride, worthy of celebration, that is why, we picked a partner, with great pedigree like Ikoyi Club 1938, for this purpose. We have all come out today to play golf, celebrate, unwind, network as well as discuss new and innovative ways that will further see us soar together”.

Sipe also used the opportunity to commend the club for its longstanding legacy of community building, family bonding, and excellence in sports development within Nigeria, which continues to help nurture the social fabric of businesses. This he said is a strong alignment with social growth.

The Deputy Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938, Mr. Bolaji Martins, congratulated ACAMB on its upcoming anniversary in September and thanked ACAMB’s president for choosing the club for the auspicious occasion.

He also emphasized the club’s active strategy to partner with viable external associations in driving mutual multi-sector growth, foster inclusivity, and expand its elite socio-cultural network. This mandate according to Martins, forms part of the leadership’s ongoing initiative to keep the historic institution progressive, modernized, and responsive to both traditional corporate partners and a rising generation of younger professionals. “As a former banker who understands the role of ACAMB, I am proud to say, the association has left an indelible mark in contributing its quota to the growth of the banking sector. I know where the sector was 30 years before now and cannot but appreciate the giant leap it has attained, thanks to the yeoman effort of this impressive association”

“Having said that, we are committing to giving opportunity at a discounted rate to members of ACAMB and interested professionals who are interested in joining our club as a form of appreciation and support, considering the good work they continue to do, Martins said.
