As Nigeria prepares to mark its 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1, 2026, PromiseLand Innovations Limited is set to launch ProTaxi, a new e-hailing platform designed to provide an alternative energy-powered transportation solution for drivers and commuters.
The platform, which is expected to commence operations on October 1, will leverage rechargeable electric vehicles to promote affordable mobility, reduce dependence on conventional fuel and create new earning opportunities for Nigerians.
The launch comes amid changing conditions in the global energy market and rising transportation costs, which have continued to affect drivers, transport operators and commuters across the country.
ProTaxi is being introduced as a technology-driven mobility service that connects passengers with drivers through a digital platform, offering ride-booking services while promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in Nigeria’s transportation sector.
The company is expected to begin operations in Abuja before expanding to other parts of the country.
Chief Executive Officer of PromiseLand Innovations Limited, Ambassador Lawrence Oloche, had earlier announced plans to empower 1,000 families with brand-new electric vehicles under the ProTaxi initiative.
According to the company, the initiative is designed to provide opportunities for eligible Nigerians, particularly men and women who can drive, to participate in the emerging electric mobility sector.
Prospective drivers are expected to register for consideration, subject to screening, verification and onboarding by the company.
The initiative is also expected to create employment opportunities and provide drivers with access to vehicles and a digital platform through which they can earn income.
ProTaxi’s rechargeable energy model is expected to offer an alternative to conventional fuel-powered transportation, with the potential to reduce fuel-related operating expenses for drivers.
The platform will allow passengers to book rides, access trip information and make payments through a mobile application designed for Android and iPhone users.
It is also expected to incorporate driver verification, real-time trip tracking, ratings and reviews, as well as location-sharing features aimed at improving transparency and passenger safety.
The company said the platform would provide drivers with flexible working schedules, allowing them to manage their availability while earning through the service.
Beyond transportation, PromiseLand Innovations Limited is positioning the ProTaxi initiative as part of its broader investment in technology-driven services and sustainable mobility solutions.
The company, which also has interests in real estate development through PromiseLand Estate, is expanding its operations into the transportation and e-hailing sector.
With its October 1 launch coinciding with Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration, ProTaxi is expected to enter the country’s growing e-hailing market with a focus on electric mobility, affordable transportation and economic opportunities for drivers.
The company’s long-term ambition is to expand the platform beyond Nigeria and contribute to the adoption of cleaner transportation solutions across Africa.
