The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege Constituency I has deepened dramatically, following reports that key executive members and ward leaders within the constituency are secretly aligning and alleged to be drumming support for the rival Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development represents a fresh blow to the candidacy of Hon. Gbenga Abiola, popularly known as Agbelebu, whose nomination as the APC flagbearer for the Lagos State House of Assembly continues to divide the ruling party in the state.

Crucial stakeholders, ward chairmen, and grassroots organizers across Agege Constituency I have expressed profound dissatisfaction over Abiola’s candidacy.
