The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has told Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu and former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for his political issues.

In a statement signed by their spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, which was released in Osogbo on Tuesday, the APC said that Adeleke accused Tinubu and Oyetola of causing his political troubles during a campaign rally in Osogbo on Monday.

The APC also mentioned that at the rally, Adeleke reminded Tinubu that he did not see any reason for what he called political persecution, even though he has endorsed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the Accord Party for the 2027 election.

Olabisi noted that Adeleke also accused the police of being biased against his government. He reminded his supporters that he is the Chief Security Officer of the state.

Olabisi expressed disappointment over Adeleke’s accusations against Tinubu and Oyetola. He said Adeleke is the one fueling and supporting political violence in the state.

“The unproven claims of Governor Adeleke, who hides his failures by dancing instead of showing intelligence against President Tinubu and Oyetola, are misplaced and silly. They show he is trying to justify his upcoming loss in the governorship election.

“One would expect the struggling governor to explain during his unnecessary political speech at the rally why he has turned the State Government House into a haven for political thugs who are on the police wanted list. Why is he giving these dangerous political thugs rewarding political jobs?

“People are curious to know why, just days before the governorship election, the desperate governor is granting questionable amnesty to some dangerous political thugs serving time in correctional facilities across the state?” Olabisi asked.

He claimed that competition is unfamiliar to Adeleke. This is why he is “crying of political persecution everywhere without any real proof to back his silly claims.”

Olabisi reminded the governor that endorsing Tinubu as his presidential candidate for the 2027 election was his choice. This should not stop him from preparing for a fair contest in the upcoming Osun governorship election.

“Why is he worried if it is true that Governor Adeleke has done well for his state? The upcoming governorship election on 15th August 2026 will show if his claims are true.

“No one is disputing that Governor Adeleke is the constitutional chief security officer of the state. The real question is why the same self-declared state CSO has been behind the many security problems in the state?” he added.
