Security: Agbaje Unveils 24hrs Residents’ Complaint Centre, Situation Room
The Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Dr. Hon. Agbaje Lukmon Abiodun , has inaugurated a Residents’ Complaint Centre and Situation Room to enhance security, emergency response, and service delivery within the council area.
Speaking at the unveiling, Agbaje said the facility would serve as a 24-hour communication hub where residents can report security concerns, domestic violence, public disturbances, and other community issues requiring government intervention.
He explained that the initiative would strengthen the link between residents and government while ensuring prompt response through collaboration with key security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The chairman also disclosed that the council has commenced data collection of residents and business operators to improve security monitoring and service delivery. He added that the Nigeria Immigration Service would support the council in addressing issues involving foreign nationals residing in the area.
Stakeholders and community leaders commended the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention capable of improving public safety and grassroots governance. APC Secretary for Alimosho Federal Constituency, Dr. Mobola Afolabi, praised the project as an innovative model that could be replicated by other local councils in Lagos State.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser on Media to the Chairman, Hon. Titi Jeje, revealed that the council has installed about 10 CCTV cameras at strategic locations across the LCDA to strengthen surveillance and support the operations of the newly established centre.
The council said the initiative reflects its commitment to leveraging technology and proactive governance to safeguard lives and property across Ayobo-Ipaja.
