Lagos APC Primaries: Agege leaders stage peaceful protest to Party Secretariat
Politics In Agege: APC members loyal to Hon. Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi and Hon. Oladapo Azeez Yusuf today stagged a peaceful protest challenging the outcome of the just concluded primaries in Agege Constituency 01 and 02 at the State Party Secretariat, where Hon. Oluwagbenga Abiola Omaco and Shikiru Enimakure names made the list of successful candidates published by the Lagos State APC in the Nations Newspaper on the 25th, of May 2026.
Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi recently held a Press conference claiming victory of the primary election and allegedly challenging the outcome of the primary by the state party leaders. In his press conference he said, “he not only disappointed at the outcome but also felt cheated.”
The press conference was followed by a protest organised by Egunjobis loyalists and supporters today at the State party Secretariat also agitating that Victory belong to him.
According to the protesters, “They are demanding the recognition of their preferred candidate, Egunjobi Ganiyu Kola, who According to them won the May 20, 2026 primary election but was replaced in an official publications.
According to one of the APC party leaders presently at the protest, said the members of the APC party and others are at the State Secretariat to officially express their grievance peacefully against the injustice on the people’s Will, as demonstrated in the outcome of the House of Assembly primary election in the two state Constituencies.
He continued that the party members massively came out in their thousands, on the election day to vote for their preferred candidates in persons of Hon Abdulganiyu Kola Egunjobi and Barrister Azeez Oladapo Yusuf, as their candidates for the APC party in next year’s General Elections.
The group urged the party executive members at the State chapter to look into their grievance, and do the needful by returning the names of the two successful winners and candidates in Agege and other areas back into the official party list of successful candidates, having certified all the necessary conditions,as stipulated in the amended Electoral Regulations in the Nigerian Constitution.
