Alimosho APC adopts consensus candidates, sealing unity pact ahead of polls

By Kazeem Akande

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Alimosho Federal Constituency have adopted consensus candidates for the forthcoming legislative elections.

The newsmen reports that the agreement was reached on Monday at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat.

The adoption was backed by key party figures, including former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs Joke Orelope-Adefulire (OFR), and ex-Lagos Assembly member, Mr Bisi Yusuf, among other leaders.

Orelope-Adefulire said the development reflected a strategic move to strengthen party unity ahead of the general elections.

She said the consensus demonstrated coordinated efforts by political actors to present a united front and improve electoral prospects across Alimosho.

At the federal level, Mr Ganiyu Adele-Ayuba was endorsed as the consensus candidate for the House of Representatives.

His adoption followed extensive consultations among stakeholders, who expressed confidence in his capacity to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

For the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Luqman Olatunji Orelope was adopted for Alimosho Constituency I, while Mr Kehinde Joseph emerged for Alimosho Constituency II.

Orelope-Adefulire described both candidates as experienced grassroots mobilisers with strong political structures in their respective constituencies.

Yusuf said the consensus process reflected high-level coordination and broad endorsement across party ranks.

He said the meeting recorded strong attendance from all six local government chairmen within the federal constituency.

According to him, all 36 councillors, party faithful and mobilisers also participated in the process.

Yusuf said the inclusive arrangement helped reduce internal divisions and strengthen cohesion within the party structure.

He added that the unity would enhance coordinated campaigns and improve voter mobilisation ahead of the polls.

He expressed optimism that the arrangement would support efforts towards the re-election of President Bola Tinubu for a second term.

Yusuf said the unanimous adoption reflected a shared commitment to continuity, effective representation and development in Alimosho.

He added that the constituency had emerged as a united political front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
