1 Year in office: Alimosho targets effective Healthcare facilities for residents

By Kazeem Akande

Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State has assured its residents of improved and effective service delivery as the Chairman Mr Johnson Akinpelu, marks its first year in office.

Akinpelu while given his remarks during the free medical outreach reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the health and overall well-being of residents through people-centred programmes and accessible healthcare services.

Akinpelu stated this while speaking at the free medical outreach organised to commemorate his first anniversary in office, where he described the initiative as another demonstration of his administration’s commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to the people.

The chairman noted that good health remains the foundation of a prosperous society, stressing that financial constraints should not prevent residents from accessing essential healthcare services. He said the outreach was designed to provide residents with access to basic medical services at no cost.

The two-day medical outreach offers a range of free services, including blood pressure and blood glucose screening, tuberculosis and hepatitis screening, HIV counselling and testing, malaria testing, eye screening, and general medical consultations. Akinpelu urged residents to take full advantage of the opportunity, emphasising the importance of early detection in preventing and managing health conditions.

He commended the healthcare professionals, volunteers, partners, and other stakeholders whose contributions made the programme possible, describing their dedication and service to humanity as commendable.

Reflecting on his first year in office, Akinpelu expressed appreciation to the people of Alimosho for their trust, support, and cooperation, noting that their encouragement has continued to inspire his administration to do more.

The chairman further reaffirmed his commitment to implementing programmes that will improve healthcare, welfare, and the overall quality of life of residents, while calling for continued partnership between the government and the people.

He concluded by expressing optimism that, through collective efforts, Alimosho would continue to emerge as a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous community.
